Get to know Maryam

My name is Maryam and I'm a personal trainer at Marigold Fitness.

I've been amazed with the human body my entire life. I chose to study medicine in my home country of Iran, where I studied and worked as a physician and a cardiologist. In my mind the heart is one of the most fascinating organs in our complex bodies.

What I learned from my journey as a physician is that even in our modern era, chronic illnesses have a huge impact on our livelihood. There is lots of suffering that comes with chronic ailments. One of the major contributors to our declining health as a society is our sedentary ways of living. There is good news that the modern lifestyle can be changed for a more desirable outcome.

I moved to Canada years ago. After pursuing my medical career here for a second time, some health challenges made me think about my own unhealthy choices. While I was juggling preparing for my medical licencing exams and supporting my new comer family, I put my own health on the backburner. So I decided to make a change. I started on the path to become a personal trainer. I used my knowledge to first help myself and now am able to help others.

Today, I'm a BCRPA certified personal trainer and I would love to be a part of your wellness journey. I will motivate you to start and stick with science based exercise programs and feel great in your amazing body. I want to help enhance your fitness level, help you reach your goals and surprise yourself.
